Privacy

The short version: this site collects your email when you ask it to, counts page views anonymously, and that's about it. The details:

Email + forms

Put your email in the signup box — or fill out a Tomari form — and it lands in a private Google Sheet (stored with Google). Signups collected through Instagram in the past live there too. Used for the updates you asked for — new cheat sheets, Japan finds, launches, Tomari news. Nothing else.

When an email goes out, the list is imported into Kit (the email service) to send it. Emails signed up through the previous on-site form already live in Kit.

Not sold, not shared beyond those two services. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, or write to steven@allstarsteven.com and it's deleted.

Analytics

Vercel Web Analytics counts page views. It's anonymous and cookie-free — no ad tracking, no profile of you.

Cookies and third parties

No tracking cookies. Visit counts come from Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and doesn't follow you around the internet. Pages with a map load tiles from Mapbox, so your browser makes requests to their servers — same as loading any image. Some outbound links are affiliate links (see the disclosure in the footer); the shop sees that the click came from here, but nothing about you goes with it. One affiliate partner (Travelpayouts) also loads a small script on the site, which may set a cookie so a booking you make after clicking through gets credited back here.
